I want to know what you ache for – and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool – for love – for your dreams – for the adventure of being alive.
Oriah Mountain Dreamer
Hi, I'm Ana! I dream, and I dare to live the dream. I am a wedding photographer and if I had the chance to be anything at all, anything I dared to imagine, anything that made me happy... I would still be a wedding photographer!
I love weddings, love people and love love, but mostly I love dreaming with my eyes open, capturing emotions and unfathomable moments that may never be repeated.
I also love traveling - almost as much as I love coming home to my husband and amazing dogs. I love laughter and freedom and, again, I really love happy people and people in love and getting to know them is a huge perk of my job!
I have a few funny stories in my backpack and can tell you some quirky details about myself, such as the fact I’ve never eaten a burger at McDonalds (or intend to), and I also have a thing for weird dance moves and a soft spot for random facts.
I ask a lot of questions and I really hope to get many answers, because I want to know what makes people tick - and I’ll make my absolute best to make you happy with gorgeous images of one of your most wonderful days!
And with that, I fully understand if you have questions too!
Read the F.A.Q. below to get some answers:
What are your packages?
I have only two packages: weddings and elopements. Elopements are with just me and the couple (ok, maybe your kids can be there too), weddings are elopements where there are other people besides the three of us (and your kids).
How would you define your style?
Do I have to? I can’t ever really tell, but if I had to I’d say probably something along the lines of documentary meets hopeless romantic point of view. I love my images to be super natural and real, but also to capture all of the emotions of each day - from love to laughter, to the emotional tears when you walk down the aisle.
Where are you from?
I currently have my home, closet and dogs in Portugal though I have lived here and there.
Do you speak any language other than English and Portuguese?
Of course! Well for starters I speak Spanish and French then I can do a tiny bit of German and Italian and a whole lot of gesturing (aka the real international language, right?)!
Do you travel for weddings?
All the YES! I can cross cities, countries, oceans and continents for your wedding - as long as you want me there (and I have your date free) count me in!
You haven’t shot at my venue before, will that be a problem?
That is the opposite from a problem! Whilst it has some clear advantages to know the venue beforehand, going to a new place we haven’t shot at gets our creative juice flowing - we can explore the place and get excited with the new possibilities and challenges.
How many photos do you deliver?
I can’t really tell you in advance how many photos I’ll deliver but I can say it will never be less than 300 for an elopement of 700 for a wedding - those are my minimum numbers.
How much time will you spend at our wedding?
All the time you need - yes, you read that right! I won’t be leaving before you did all there was to do and danced a lot on top of it. I hate it when couple are stressed about their wedding photographers or videographers leaving because they’re staying for 8, 10 or 12 hours - I’m there for the whole wedding which means I’ll start shooting when you start getting ready and will be going home after we’ve all busted many moves on the dance floor!
How much time do you need to take our pictures?
I also strongly dislike it when you guys have to lose a big part of your reception to take pictures - you only have this day once and you should enjoy it with your loved ones (I agree, I’m nice and you also like to hang with me, but there are so many guests here wanting your attention), so I’ll take you away in short periods of time throughout the day, for 5/10 minutes of photos. This way you’ll have photos in different locations, with different lights and in different moments of your day and still you’ll get to enjoy your party in full!
Do you take group photos?
Yes! I know it is often viewed as the “uncreative” part of this job and to be fair it can be, but your guests need to have a photo of them with you and we’ll take them in a more posed or relaxed way - whichever you prefer - but we’ll get them all!
Do you have a second team?
I do. For many many reasons - being the main one the fact that everyone seems to like getting married on a Saturday. The year has only so many sunny Saturdays and there are a ton of amazing couples that want beautiful pictures so I have not only second shooters to accompany me, but also a team of brilliant individuals that have been shooting with me for a while and whom I fully believe will be able to capture your day exactly as I would. They just show up, shoot, and you can rest assured I’ll edit and deliver your images and all final products myself.
What other services do you offer?
We may also offer video (made by our partners who work with us on almost every wedding) and we are super proud to say we also have an amazing livesketching artist on the team that creates both black and white and watercolor images of the key moments of your day.
How long do we have to wait for our awesome images?
Usually I give a maximum timeframe of two months, but will always try to deliver the images in all their awesomeness before that day comes. Trust me, I have absolutely no pleasure in keeping them undelivered longer than I have to!;)
How can I be sure you won’t lose my photos?
I shoot dual card. This means I am constantly saving the photos I take in two cards at the same time. Then I have an external backup drive on which I save the cards the very same night of the wedding before going to sleep. Then during the week I copy them to another external drive that I keep at a different location to make sure they are safe, and finally I’ll get them onto my computer to edit. I’ll only delete the cards and the backups when I’m done editing and they are uploaded to your gallery.
What if I am the one to lose them after a few months?
Just reach out and let me know - I keep a copy of all of your photos and videos and can easily re-send them to you.
Do you deliver unedited photos?
I do understand it is your wedding day and you may want to save all possible memories of it, therefore I don’t mind delivering the unedited images, as long as you promise you’ll look at them as dirty potato peels (and by then you’ll already have “eaten” my perfectly-golden-fried French fries) so really - keep them but don't look at them!
Have you got insurance?
Of course I do! From personal to travel to equipment insurance, I’ve got all of my bases covered.
What if something happens to you?
If by any chance I can’t be there for your wedding, rest assured I have all of my weddings attributed to a backup photographer or two, just in case. All of the exchanges we’ve had are safe in your file and my passwords are in a folder for my colleagues to be able to access. If I’m dead or incapacitated I’ll be very sad to not be at your wedding but the person who’ll replace me will be very excited to do so (I just can’t promise the same quality crazy dance moves though, mine have been worked on for years)!
I’m sold! How do I book you?
Awesome! I’m already excited! Send me an e-mail with all your deets and I’ll send your contract over. The retainer paid upon signing is of 20% of the total value and the remaining balance can be paid up to the day of the wedding.
For reference, starting prices for weddings are of 2500EUR |3000USD | 2000GBP | 3700AUD | 3300 CAD
